It is scheduled for a hearing in the Federalism Committee on Tuesday, January 31st (next week!) at 2:00 pm.  Here are the two things we are asking you to do right now: 1.               Make your opinion known electronically.  There are two ways to do this: •                 Arizona Voices – go to [[http://www.arizonavoices.org|www.arizonavoices.org]] This is a third party, public opinion site for Arizona legislation.  Although not an official government site, it is regarded by lawmakers as a good measure of public opinion.  Once on the website you have to login, which will require you to set up a quick, easy account.  You can even log in using your Facebook information.  They require an account so that you can only vote once.  Once you have logged in, look for **HCR2010**, click on it and vote “strongly agree.”  You can also leave comments if you’d like (not required).  Be careful to choose “strongly agree” because you can’t change your vote if you make a mistake. •                 Request to Speak (RTS) at the Arizona Legislative website – Although it sounds like you are going to have to speak, this system allows you to express your support on the official Arizona Legislature website, whether you actually care to speak or not.  This site isn’t as intuitive as Arizona Voices, but if you’re able to do both, that would be very important.  Instructions for this site can be found here ==> http://www.cosaction.com/make_your_voice_heard_with_alis You will notice in these directions that in order to use the “Request to Speak” system you must first have registered in person at the State Capitol.  If you have done that, great!  If not, and you’d like to do this without driving to the Capitol, REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE with your name, full address, phone and e-mail address and our person at the Capitol will register you.  We will then e-mail you back once registered.  This in-person registration only needs to occur once. 2.               Attend the Federalism Committee meeting on **Tuesday, January 31st at 2:00 pm** at the Capitol •                 Our bill, HCR2010, will be discussed and voted on.  If we don’t successfully pass this committee, our resolution will not progress any further in 2017.  We need as many supporters at the meeting as possible.  If you have any COS clothing, wear it.  Look for others in the group as they will have stickers or buttons for you to wear to show your support.  You don’t need to speak – your presence speaks volumes.  As a caveat: there are several other Article V bills being discussed at this same meeting.  We are there to support HCR2010, but more than one of these resolutions can also pass out of the committee.  While supporting our resolution there is no reason to speak against any of the other Article V resolutions.  We need to be careful to not make enemies out of fellow patriots. It is imperative that you take the above actions immediately! For America, //Gary Zimmermann, State Director// //The Convention of States Arizona Team//
