The document that freed them from the monarchy of Britain’s rule declared a certain autonomy that interestingly enough is opposed quite vehemently in our own government at present. So what has since been supported, has developed into opposition, and America has found herself on the brink of losing all of her most valuable possessions. Life, liberty, and happiness.\\ \\ The Convention of States is comprised of individuals. Individuals that all believe in recapturing the lost ground. Our nation has backtracked on so much and has lost the vision that gave it its identity, its purpose, its beginning. The fact that a convention is Constitutionally supported is part of our groundwork, but the love of a free nation is what drives us forward…and we don’t take the term “free” for granted. It is not loose, but definitive in its meaning.\\ \\ Picture a hostage, held against their will; incapable of making a decision for their own destiny that is being decided for them. Mentally extricate the thought of their hands being tied behind their back and a gag in their mouth with their feet tied to the base of their chair. All elements of action and progress are inhibited.\\ \\ This is America’s past.\\ \\ Our hands have been tied for decades in a figurative sense as many have felt unequal to the task of facing up to the opposition of the autocracy that has developed in our capital. Our efforts to act have been suppressed with the reasoning that classified our fight as extreme and even unamerican…and maybe they’re right. We are unamerican in the sense that we are doing something present-day America has no concept of. The only difference is, we do not view our fight as extreme, but is a Constitutional movement that fights extremism.\\ \\  So much has been kept beyond our reach, our rights to speak out have been going on unobserved or regarded with disinterest with the perspective that we are disillusioned. The prospect of individual liberties and amendments proposed outside the limits of a political machine is viewed as preposterous. So we have been gagged…until now.\\ \\ We were handed the knife of Constitutional right. We have removed the ties with little difficulty and have begun speaking against the tide of rising socialism, un-Constitutional decisions, and we have voiced the need for a larger voice as a people. Our representative government has lost its significance and no longer represents the people, so we the people must now represent our own voice and stand firm to defend our unalienable rights with confidence.\\ \\ This is why we are a part of the Convention of States. We hold to the truths, we hold to the facts, and we hold to the promise of a free future as we step forward in pursuit of it for the benefit of future generations. Won't you join me in making history and creating a brighter future for our nation? #|PETITION_WIDGET{petition_tag:;coalition_id:;anedot_url:}|#
