The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealist acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort.” (The Notebooks of Lazarus Long, Robert A. Heinlein, 1973)//\\ \\ Are you among those who believe in the U.S. Constitution and its protection of the sovereign individual’s unalienable right of self-governance? Are you harassed by regulations that are difficult to understand? Do you see government, in particular the federal government, is a spendthrift ne’er-do-well speeding toward bankruptcy? Worse, will it leave our progeny, whom were taxed without representation, holding the bag!\\ \\ None of this just happened. Nor is it strictly a Democrat or Republican “thing.” Five generations ago our political system was infected with a philosophy from Europe alien to our founding and American culture. Fabian Socialism, the bastard child of 18th Century and early 19th Century philosophers’ Rousseau, Hegel, and activist Karl Marx, was incipiently introduced to many in the late 19th and early 20th Century as “Progressive” – because socialism wouldn’t sell. Best known of these early “Progressives” is John Dewey whose philosophy was adopted into our education system near the beginning of this movement. Progressives don’t believe in the U.S. Constitution. It demands that the fiduciaries of the sovereign people act within the constitutional framework of the contract and protect the unalienable rights of the sovereign people.\\ \\ One of our first avowed prominent Progressives was Republican President Theodore Roosevelt. He was responsible for the election of Democrat Woodrow Wilson, child of the defeated Confederacy, and arguably a more grounded philosopher of progressivism than Roosevelt. He knew full well that establishing a centralized democracy would enable the implementation of socialism, making this a key component of his party’s platform.\\ \\ For all who believe our political elites have practically destroyed our republic, there is a peaceful solution. Two days before the Constitutional Convention ended, George Mason, a delegate from Virginia, proposed a revision to Article V of the Constitution. This revision added a second method for amending the Constitution, which bypasses Congress.\\ \\ “[If Congress had the sole power to write amendments] no amendments of the proper kind would ever be obtained by the people, if the Government should be come oppressive.” [It] will better to provide them [Article V] in an easy, regular and Constitutional way than to trust to chance and violence," (George Mason, 1787 Federal Convention Debates). Mason’s proposal was immediately adopted without debate.\\ \\ There are forces, both expected and unexpected that vehemently oppose exercising this sovereign right of the people. These are refuted by such eminent scholars and experts as Montana’s own Law Professor emeritus Robert Natelson, (Senior Fellow in Constitution Jurisprudence, [[http://constitution.i2i.org/about/|Independence Institute in Denver)]], and others.\\ \\ For more information on Convention of States and how you can get involved in saving our liberty, [[https://conventionofstates.com/|click here.]] //Lt.
