It is a nation of political will, and it always will be.”\\ \\ Regardless of the validity of these prospects, neither is as incontrovertible as the wisdom of the Bible. There are no powers, based on the imagination of humans that can be victorious over a reliance in the immutable goodness and mercy of God.\\ \\ “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV\\ \\ I believe that no amount of earthly confusion or exploitation is immune to correction if our citizens humble themselves and resist evil.\\ \\ At the time of our Constitution’s creation, its framers believed that they were creating a nation of laws. They had studied scripture and determined that God had provided laws to govern the nation of His creation, Israel.\\ \\ Those who sought to establish a nation, like unto God’s vision for Israel, debated how that might be accomplished. The US Constitution was created at the Constitutional Convention of 1789 by committed patriots who quoted Deuteronomy more than any other book. (In case you are unaware, Deuteronomy is full of laws.)\\ \\ It is obvious to me that their goal was to establish and document godly governance for the citizens of the United States of America - in other words, a nation of laws.\\ \\ If we are to compare this to Mr. Deace’s contention, we will notice that at least during the convention, the political will of these delegates was to create “a nation of laws” and that those laws would rule over the people.\\ \\ The Constitution specifies that the Legislative Branch makes the laws.  The Executive Branch executes these laws. This Constitution specifies who would be the justices that would adjudicate violations of these laws,\\ \\ These facts illustrate to me, and I believe to any conscientious seeker, that the goal was the rule of our nation by laws. The US Constitution requires the rule of law.\\ \\ Mr. Levin’s observation that we are living in a post-constitutional era is indicative that the political will of our government is to override and undermine the rule of law. Modern political officeholders have perverted the Constitution so as to remove its authority over the governance of our nation, and the acceptance of these conditions illustrates that the citizenry has not yet effectively rejected them.\\ \\ Politicians have resorted to cherrypicking features and statutes of our Constitution and applying them in a way that suits them, regardless of righteousness.\\ \\ I suggest that our best route to the restoration of the United States of America is to first restore the Constitution itself. There is but one valid way to amend, or change, the Constitution. It is plainly delineated in Article V, and there are but two methods, clearly laid out in Article V, to create such amendments.\\ \\ The US Constitution has been amended only twenty-seven times in 234 years, yet very little of the strict dictates of this governing document remains unviolated.\\ \\ Don’t you think that correcting this situation just might be the best place to start restoring godly governance in America?\\ \\ “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV\\ \\ Do you think that the sins of our nation can make this promise unobtainable? Are we so corrupt that we cannot humble ourselves and pray? Do we not believe that if we obey this command, God will “hear from heaven, forgive our sins, and heal our land?”\\ \\ Is it not time for Americans to abandon our pride, humble ourselves to our Lord, our nation, and its laws, and petition God for a righteous redemption of our nation?\\ \\ The political will of the citizens of the USA should be to reestablish the rule of law through a restoration of the Constitution.\\ \\ Convention of States Action is calling for a convention of the states to propose amendments to the Constitution that will restore self-governance to our great country.   Mark Levin and Steve Deace are both supporters of Article V, Convention of States, along with the legislatures of 19 states. Several states are actively working to join the effort. Join us by [[https://conventionofstates.com/event_petitions|signing the petition]].
