When Nebraska Senator Brett Lindstrom first heard about the Convention of States movement, he wasn't sure what to think. Like many Americans, he believed the federal government needed to be returned to his constitutional box, but he didn't know whether Article V held the key. 

Then he attended the Convention of States Simulation in Williamsburg, Virginia. As he explained recently on the senate floor, that experience taught him that the “runaway convention” fallacy is just that – a myth designed to sow fear without regard for the truth.

“It would be very, very difficult to have a runaway convention,” he says.
