We just completed a Get Out the Vote (GOTV) TelePatriot mission for the New Jersey November 2 election. There were 3,567 calls made, which far exceeded our initial goal of 1000 calls. The New Jersey team made 1,647 calls, and the rest were made by members from other states in our region. 

TelePatriot is a platform for making high-volume calls. It is used at the local (district), state, and national levels. 

The TelePatriot (TP) platform is very easy to use, and we are looking for volunteers! The TP application is added as a new tab to the COSAction application on your mobile phone. When you access the TP tab, you will see a script to read when making your call. A phone number pops up, and when you click on it, the call is made and after the call, you can enter the call results. Then, another phone number pops up to make the next call. It is an efficient way to make and track the results of many calls.

Different missions to use TelePatriot include:

• Follow Up with petition signers as a way of catching up on the backlog.
• Promoting events such as the original New Jersey speaker series (COS at Home) with Jonathan.
• GOTV missions are the ones used the most. We even make GOTV calls to other states to support them as we received support with our New Jersey GOTV.
• TP can be used for just about anything that supports the COS mission. We can even set them up for just a district function as an easy way to call people to action or a meeting in the districts.

All TPs need to be approved by your Regional Captain and the Regional Director or someone in National before it is active. The TelePatriot platform allows our district, state, or nation to join together to support a mission that supports the Convention of States. On Saturday, November 6, we had a petition signing event at Fall Farm Fest and Market at V&V Adventure Farm in Shamong, New Jersey.

This festival included over 80 artisans, holistic and craft vendors, live music, a food truck, and fun games for the kids. The weather was brisk but beautiful and there were a lot of people that came out for the festival.

We had petition signers and volunteers from Districts 4, 7, 8, 9, and 14 join us to man the booth and talk about Convention of States and collect petition signatures. 

The event was hosted by DC Team Murn Myers and included our regular volunteers Josh Berdecia, Kelly Kennedy, Elisa Best, and Sheila Molloy. However, several family members and other new petition signers and volunteers stopped by to see how we operate and to get to know us.

We obtained 39 signatures at the event with 8 potential volunteers.  

These events are a great way for volunteers to come and meet other COS volunteers and talk about the Convention of States.  They are fun, interactive and we all learn something new every time we come out. Great job everyone!

The State Events Coordinator assists New Jersey in planning and coordinating Convention of States events. These may include an annual Rally at the State Capitol, headliner speaker events, training meetings, and grassroots recruiting efforts. The more common events that are held are petition signing events or meet and greet informational events at fairs, farmers markets, shooting clubs, or other COS-friendly locations. Events can also be held at people’s homes. Small events are just as important as the larger events as this is where we really get to spend time with people to talk about COS.

The ideal candidate for this volunteer position should be able to develop and carry out plans for a variety of different events. This includes securing facilities, working with the District Captain to ensure there are volunteers to man the booth, and ensuring all supplies are at the event (tent, table, COS materials, and most importantly petitions).

The event coordinator should be outgoing, tenacious, detail-oriented, and able to work within deadlines. Time commitment will vary, depending on what events are being planned. Please consider joining this dedicated group of volunteers.

Murn Myers is District Captain (DC) Team for District 8. But we all feel like she is the DC for all of us. Murn is a very dedicated volunteer that works with anyone who calls for help. She is inclusive and brings everyone together for the COS mission. 

Murn is a fourth-generation American. Her grandfather came to America from Scotland through Ellis Island in 1921 when he was six years old. Her family instilled in her how great this country is. She heard stories her whole life of her grandfather’s voyage and being welcomed by the Statue of Liberty as the ship came into New York harbor. 

Murn joined COS in 2014 as she felt it was a way to make a difference in our fight for freedom and self-governance. Originally, she became a general volunteer and soon after joined the follow-up team and TelePatriot. In the summer of 2021, Murn signed up for DC Team. 

Currently, she works with new volunteers in districts 1, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 15, 21, and 23 training anyone that reaches out for help. She teaches Follow Up, Citizen Builder, TelePatriot, COS, and the Constitution principles. She works with new people at events to explain the COS mission until they are comfortable on their own. She keeps in touch with all volunteers that have reached out to her and that she has met at events and through follow-up. 

Murn’s plan for the South Region is to build a large team of volunteers by having monthly meetings and sponsoring frequent events that allow volunteers and petition signers to connect and learn about COS and how to save our country. She believes that like-minded people need to get together to re-charge, train, plan events and talk about how we move the state forward to get the COS Resolution passed through our state legislators. 

Murn’s heart is with this country. She is dedicated to the Convention of States and the volunteers that support it. She loves meeting up with like-minded people that want to talk about how much they love this country. She has confidence that the Convention of States will help save this country and is dedicated to our cause. She is a true patriot.
