Heads Up/Good News to share:540 new COSA Petition signers over the last 45 days!

Please give a shout out to our dedicated Convention of States New Hampshire Team members!

We all sorely benefit from real measurable progress, especially during these often-distressing times.

Here in New Hampshire, our Convention of States volunteers brought in 540 new signed petitions calling for an Article V convention.

We know that level of interest should positively shake up/wake up those still undecided state legislators who may have forgotten about the strength of our grass roots movement - especially in an election year, and timed to carry us forward to pass this resolution within the upcoming 2025 legislative session.

How did we achieve these numbers?

1)        One NH longtime volunteer who wishes to remain anonymous contacted and persisted in obtaining written authorization from Market Basket, the grocery chain with 90 stores throughout New England, to enable us to carry out a petition drive outside their doors. Results: With two dedicated volunteers one Saturday in September, we acquired 106 signed petitions over the course of 5 hours.
2)        At the Deerfield State Fair, our booth (see photo) was a major draw - almost like a magnet for anyone concerned about the declining state of our nation. People lined up in droves and once we had to run out to print more petitions. The fair covered 4 days, but one was a washout with heavy rains. So, primarily over 3 days, we succeeded in bringing in 434 petition signers, with a good number agreeing to possibly volunteer.

What do we believe made such a difference in turnout here?
What made these events so successful?

In the opinion of many:

A: We found that the use of hand-held signs, one calling for “TERM LIMITS” and another calling for “BALANCED BUDGET” were extremely captivating. They drew immediate reactions, like “Yeah, so where do I sign?”.  So many wanted to find out more. These short but powerful visual aids represent a new tactic that works as a simple powerful message.  We can share these basic sign graphics with anyone who wishes to print them out & conduct a similar marketing drive.
B: This should probably be “A” – but the reason why “A” worked so well is because these topics now resonate very strongly; other handheld visual messages such as “SMALLER GOVERNMENT” might be also effective. The overriding reason for these extraordinary numbers of signatures remains the same: A Genuine Burning Concern about where we are headed as a nation. There were hardly any objections to our proposed resolution…with one notable exception being an unnamed congresswoman who indignantly opposed any term limits as dangerous to democracy (no conflict of interest there!).

We readily borrow ideas from other COSA chapters, and we readily offer our own ideas. The Market Basket petition drives represent a great opportunity for all others here in New England to consider & execute. One must approach the specific store manager to get a green light of course. We can assist you by sharing the approval letter from their headquarters. Contact us for any guidance.
Plus… using the handheld SIGNS are key, as well!

Let us know if we can help in any way. We all share the same goals for returning to a functional and free Republic as COSA provides us with a vehicle to reach that goal.
