As I talk with individuals or groups of people during various functions I am involved with, it's clear that more and more people are hearing about our grassroots movement to convene a Convention of States to fix our out-of-control federal government, “permanently.”
I find that many of these individuals clearly understand that our movement is not a Republican or Democrat movement but rather a state vs. federal government movement, “We the People” vs. the Washington political establishment movement.
Most Democrats I speak with agree that our country is on the brink of bankruptcy with strong potential to destroy our way of life.
They further agree that Washington politicians have become an elitist class, passing laws which they exempt themselves.
They are beginning to realize that our federal government has become a dysfunctional & unaccountable entity continuously expanding its power and control over the states and citizens.
They readily agree that all of us must come together to end the destructive federal bureaucracy. Year after year, establishment politicians consistently ignore the people they represent, ignore the promises they have made and ignore the plight of those who are struggling all while they themselves are getting rich and intentionally pitting us against one another. At the same, they promise to unite us with endless, meaningless rhetoric.
Unfortunately, we still have 50% who still refuse to stop drinking the Kool-Aid being fed to them by the extreme, left-wing activists in their party. This entrenched group truly believes that our movement is a conspiracy against Democrats when in fact, it is nonpartisan.
I am certain that I am not the only one who has encountered Democrats who seem to agree wholeheartedly with the depth of our problems, regardless of party affiliation.
Swaying these Democrats, who seem to believe that a convention is necessary, to sign our petition takes persistency. But persistency will eventually get them to sign the petition and hop on board with our movement.
Persistency is the only way “We the People” can take back our constitutionally guaranteed God-given rights and end the federal bureaucracy that is determined to destroy our Constitutional Republic.
A recent survey validates that just over 50% of Democrats support the convening of a Convention of States. It's time we start targeting our Democrat family members, friends and neighbors because believe it or not, half of them are with us.
They may be reluctant to sign our petition at first, but now we can cite this survey and let them know they are not alone within their party.
Our Constitutional Republic needs each of us to maintain a positive attitude and to be persistent when having a conversation regarding the calling for a Convention of States with those reluctant to sign our petition.
This is the only way to win this battle against the Washington political machine: united and standing together. It will take hard work and time, but if we all make the effort, together we can bring our country back to the way our Founding Fathers intended .
