The Convention of States New York team had a great showing this weekend at the Albany Gun Show.
We educated hundreds of people about Article V and the Convention of States Project, received helpful information for upcoming presentations, and recruited a record 123 signatures over the two-day event.
This was our first time at the show, and we received a warm reception from all who attended. We also secured a space for the next show in Syracuse on April 18-19!
COS New York Legislative Liaison Gerry Allen and Co-State Director Lois Alimonti were on hand to answer questions and distribute information on our resolution. They were an integral part of our Event Team!
Taking advantage of our trip to Albany, on Tuesday we visited the capitol to secure appointments with the must-have representatives in the Senate and Assembly. These are the men and women who will be voting to pass our resolution out of their respective committees and onto the floor for a vote.
We were proud to receive bipartisan support while we were at the capitol in both the New York Senate and Assembly.
With the help of Terry Ferraro and Jim McDonnell, we visited each of the representatives needed for a vote and left them with a COS Pocket Guide and information pertaining to Article V. I'd like to thank them both for making the long trip to Albany to support our efforts.
We will return to Albany in March and April of this year. As soon as we have the dates available, I will share that information with all of our supporters in the hope they will join us in this massive grassroots movement!
