On Saturday, August 15th, volunteers from District 25 assembled at the Roxbury Diner to discuss strategy for the district, set goals, discuss legislative issues, and brainstorm on how to grow the district.

District Captain, and newly minted Regional Captain, Janet Hagan began the meeting by discussing the new statewide strategy and discussing what that means for the district. Armed with a three-page agenda, she walked through the various volunteer positions available for the district, casting the vision for a district team that mirrors the statewide structure.

The meeting covered all the usual Convention of States (“COS”) topics: opportunities to represent COS at local events, the upcoming COS at Home webinar with Rick Green, telepatriot, COS University trainings, and state and national updates.

True to the COS ethos of self-governance, the volunteers also discussed issues unrelated to calling an Article V convention of states. The current mail-in ballot measures were discussed at length, as well as different taxes to be raised to pay for the heavy-handed government response to COVID19.

COS being a do-tank, not a think-tank, the discussion centered largely on how to raise awareness about these issues in the district, rather than simply commiserating about them.

The meeting was exceptionally well organized and productive, leading regional captain Glenn Barone, who was also in attendance, to describe it as the “template” for how district meetings should be run.

Many thanks to Jan and her team in District 25 for all they are doing to advance the cause of liberty here in New Jersey.
